Following on from the battle events at Barnet and Tewkesbury, Buckingham’s Retinue returned to Castle Rising in Norfolk over the weekend of 18th and 19th of July!

Another group favourite, all our usual living history camp displays were popular with the public, along with our timetabled talks on medieval food, medicine, music and dance and combat.

A well received talk on cooking

Vic almost surrouned talking about medieval medicine.

Group member Josh also organised the cooking for the event and pulled out all the stops to recreate an exquisite dish of frumenty and venison, following his research into the deer parks that surrounded the castle in the middle ages.

Our next event will be Skipton Castle, 25th and 26th July!
