Re-enactment can become an expensive hobby if you let it, but it does not have to be if you spend your money wisely and on the right things! 

The guidebook sections are designed to help you get it right first time. The guidebook has a lot of detailed information that should help you in choosing your medieval clothing, how to make it and what it should look like. I would suggest you spend a considerable amount of time reading through and understanding these suggestions, before begining to purchase or make your goods.

I have included an approximate price list for basic garments and goods you may want to purchase when you have decided you want to become a re-enactor. When looking at the price guide, you need to remember that you don't have to get all of your items before you attend an event and you don't have to get them all at one time. The prices also vary, due to different traders' charges, but I would recommend that you look for the quality of the goods over the cost of the goods. Feel free to ask members of the group who made their clothing and how much it cost. I also have a limited number of patterns available for use for some basic garments, if you would like to make up your own items. I also can help to put you in touch with other members who make garments within the group, who tend to be cheaper than the traders. As a new member to the group, you maybe able to hire kit from the group, please email Jo for more information.
